Daily point-of-sale pulling, 1984-[ongoing].

In order to generate accurate sales information, the ABC Board installed in 1984 a highly technical point-of-sale (POS) system. With the POS system, the master computer in the Central Office uses the dataphone network to call the electronic cash register in each of the ABC Board operated stores during off-duty hours to receive sales and inventory data. The daily POS report is the basic source data used by the Computer Operation Section in the preparation of virtually all of the important statistical reports for other divisions. Included with each POS printout are one-page summary of sales indicating cash registered, stock and case accountabilities, cash deposited, and several pages of a detailed report.
